I own a V6 Sportivo (MkII) and the rear door on the passenger side won't open!
I bought the car on 7 October 2004 (new) and felt real good when showing it off to a mate of mine (a Ford nut) but he couldn't open the door!
I tried everything and suffered only laughs and generally feel miserable about it...has anyone had this problem, as she's never given me any other problem and, to be humbled in front of a Ford jockey on mechanical issues...damn!
Any ideas would be appreciated as it's due to go to the dealer ASAP but having had bad service from them before, I'm worried!

On my 95, I've had to repair the door wiring, both rear doors and the passenger side. Cold weather extremes and lotsa use can make the wiring crack when flexing. Over time it might break and/or short with other door wires. On one of my rear doors the wiring faulted so that the window would go down in any door position, but only go up if the door was open. The window would pulse down a 1/2 inch whenever the door locks were used. The wires can faulkt to blow the under dash 30A fuse link, then you lose you PW, PL, Power Seats and Moon Roof.
If you have to pull the door panel, you should check the wiring in the flexible boot for damage at the same time. You can cut out and replace any ones that are cracked. Make the solder joints inside where the door post is and inside the door. This leaves a virgin wire to flex at the door joint, within the rubber boot.

Tried all of the above to no avail...although Toyota Australia has said that it will be covered under warranty and service has been booked for next Wed (19 Jan), so we'll see how it goes...
The Ford fan was impressed up till that point (damn!) and I admit that it came as a shock to me as my father has owned Cressidas and previous Camry models and has only needed to change consumables.
So maybe the guy on the assembly line had had a hard night before
Anyway, thanks to all of you who replied...it's great to see a forum where people will try to help each other!
