Does This Sound Right?

Alright, heres the situation, i have a 96 camry 5SFE, when i drop the car into first gear and i just gun it my first gear goes through like its suppose to but then i switch it to second, and im still gunning it and my second gear switches to 3rd at 75 mph, is this right? my brothers accord switches from 2nd to 3rd at about 60mph, is anyone elses car like this? oh yeah it is an automatic and the ETC power is always on.

yeah that's about right... but i woudln't recommend doing that on an automatic though..

^ yeah shouldnt be recommended on an auto.....75mph on 2nd->>3rd is quite high

what do u guys mean by i shouldnt be doing that on an auto, and yes 75 from 2nd to third is really high, does anyone elses do that?

im guessing his accord is a newer model cause my camry is a gen5 with the 5 speed auto and it shifts at the same speed, 60 mph. but 75 to 3rd on a 4 speed auto sounds right, but the next time i drive my 04 gmc ill see what speed it shifts to 3rd.

Its doing that because your flooring it. Do you have ECL on? Cuz if u do, then thats definetly why. Mr Car does the same thing if Im flooring it.

For A241E ECT tranny on my Celica, shift schedule fro Toyota Manual:
1-2: 52kph- 57kph 32mph-35mph
2-3: 99kph-107kph 62mph-66mph
3-OD: 133kph-142kph 83mph-88mph
Doesn't matter in PWD mode or not. Same shift point as long as you're flooring it.
