Battery Clamps

My Clamps are almost gone, previous Owner did not take care of it. I lost my Negative Clamp, it broke when i tried to clean them (use baking soda, it works).

How do you replace them?

I do not see tha parts on the parts list.

Help!

Right now I just forced fit it.

Thanks.

I have a cheap one as well, keep it just in case. I read somewhere that the cheapos can be trouble. Not sure ??

Don't forget the cover for the + terminal. Very important.

I just replaced mine a few weeks ago, got 2 new ones at Autozone for like $2 each, something like that. They seem to work pretty well, haven't had any troubles.

Oh, and I don't have a cover on either terminal, I don't think the car came with one....I'm assuming that's just there for safety purposes, right?

^^ when with my Toyota OEM clamps (as what came with the car) the cover sat flush with the battery. With my Autozone clamps, the safety cover sits a little above the battery, but in all essence its still covered, but its not flush like it used to be. I'm certain all car came with teh safety cover.

so what your saying is that it corroded away right? try spraying some Brake Disc Quiet (blue stuff) on your terminals before attaching the clamps... then spray your clamps... it will keep them from ever getting eaten away again

The Terminals were eaten up, the previous owner did not keep it clean. The Cover is for what purpose? I do not have them on my Acura, should I get one? I have them on my CRV.

I use WD40 on my battery terminals. Any other suggestions?

There is not much clearance from the hood (or much metal in the hood) if someone were to sit overtop of the battery it could short the battery out.
