Seat Belt Warning Light

when i start my car, the little Seatbelt Warning Light starts flashing.....
but only does so for a few seconds and then turns off, regardless of whether i have put my seatbelt on or not....

i am wondering if this is normal?
because in my dad's Kluger, the seatbelt light will keep on flashing until you put your seatbelt on....

also i have noticed that in the Kluger there is a little wire around the seatbelt clip (obviously for this warning light), but my car doesnt have that

Yes that is normal. Toyota is smart enough to figure if you don't want to put your seatbelt on, they don't want a light flashing and pissing you off like the other dim-witted automakers.
