kazu under the hood

just had a motor installed in my 95. used all the old intake and such. when the car goes under a load at 40-45 mph there is a sound coming from the center area of the motor that sounds like someone blowing a kazu. i know this sounds weird but even this noise has my mechanic stumped. checked all vaccum lines and related parts everything checks out. soon as more throttle is applied it quits. any ideas?
thanks

Maybe there is a kazoo in there, stuck to the exhaust pipe

I would open up the hood and check though. Make sure everything is connected properly. Who did the motor installation? I would ask him.
