Should I or Not?

I have 97 1MZfe V6 Engine and rear Valve cover gasket is leaking.
This leak is not really bad. but i wants to fix it. I did search on this subject. not enough info.

I like to know step by step working flow.

Mechenic is asking for $ 300.

Is it a easy job?

While changing valve cover i also wants to change sprark plug,Spenum & other gasket.

please tell me which tools i will need. and some step by step instruction.

Thanks in advance.

A haynes manual or chiltons is a great way to start...you will never look back($14). Look to autozone.com they *I believe* post chilton's up.

Valve cover should be easy. $300 is way too much.

The rear bank on 1mzfe is a bear!
the heynes manul is not very clear about how to remove the wiring harness and the lines attached to the intake plenum.
I got the same problem(rear bank valve cover leaking) and want to do the same thing (change spark plugs). We will see if somebody can enlighten us.....
300 quote for replacing the gasket and all the spark plugs, i will say it's a ok price....
200 bucks will be better though....

i agree with ruoknow the rear is a pain in the ass on the 1mz-fe maybe that's why they ask 300$ since it's not really accessible and the time to do it will be long

Factory service manual they run about $100 or so...still beats $300 (ebay..88le knows his handle on ebay)

Call more than one shop...if you get similar quotes then that's what youre gonna have to pay...unless you do it by yourself.
