headlights dim when a/c compressor kicks on / high idle

yeah its still warm enough down here to use the A/C, but when the compressor kicks on, the headlights dim momentarily.

also for about 2 min after my car starts it idles high (about 1300-1500 rpm)

im wondering if my battery is going, and the high idle is the car trying to recharge it.

its a 2001 4 cyl Camry CE with original battery

thanks
John

nothing is out of the ordinary

lights dim because of power a/c compressor uses on startup, and high idle is the car trying to warm itself up

the RPM should drop after several min of starting. my 5sfe is at ~1000 when barely start and ac would make a ~150 difference.
