Exclamation I want to go fast......very fast

Hi my name is G. I live in Bloomfield, CT. I have a 99 2.2l v4 automatic camry and I have been lookin up as many parts for my camry as possible (making lists of almost everything i would like to put on it). But the thing is i'm on a budget and I am currently out of employment (I start work next week though). So I am sitting at home right now just looking at my Gen4 and jus wondering... is there a supercharger out there for the camry and if there is what else am i gonna need to put in it so i dont blow up or kill my self. Right now the camry is basically all stock except some clear corners. Other than that I have a lot of work ahead of me and I want to know what you may suggest I do to make my "Lady (the camry)" go faster. Thanks . If you need to know anything else about the camry to come up with any ideas, which im sure you will, please notify me. Thanks again

Cool

Welcome to ToyotaNation!
Do a search as all information is readily avalible.

You basically have three choices for going faster.
Rippmods S/C
Covert your 5s-fe to a turbo using 3s-gte parts
Swap that motor for a more powerful/easier to tune one

None of those are cheap. IMHO I would do a Rippmods, or swap the motor. I don't keep up with i4 projects, but IMHO too many of the hybrid turbos have died for whatever the reason. (everything from inexperianced tuner, to random mechanical failures)

The sad trueth is that without doing one of the three, no combination of anything is going to make that a "fast" car by any standard. Ya just can't realistically make a 5s-fe fast N/A.

So your saying that there basically isnt much i can do other than those few mods listed, which sound real expensive, to make my "lady" go faster? Damn, thanks so much i would have just wasted even more time trying to looking for stuff. well if thats the case than i am sure to be moving on to the styling phase. Thank you very much again for the help. If anyone else has any suggestions i would apreciate it of course.

I'm just being an ass but you have a I4 not a V4. But to go fast you could go with the Ripp Mods S/C, or you could do your own CT26 turbo set up.

It's more a question of how fast do you really want to go? If you just want to go faster, that's no problem. There are a ton of typical mods you can do to make the car a good deal faster.
You can do the typical intake-headers-full exhaust-ECU tuning and head/valve work. The problem being that I don't see any way for that motor to make the same hp numbers by doing all that work as any of the stock 3.0L v6's, let alone have anything close to the same powerband.

If you want to be faster, that's no problem. If you want to be fast, then you need to look at building the motor and forced induction, or n2o.

i used to have an h4 and that was sooooooo easy to make it go fast. But I don't know about the 5sfe, I've got one myself and I'm thinking about making it go faster too. I don't want to comprise it's reliability or make it sound like a fart - excuse me - fart master.

What about msd ignition, and maybe some cams? and leave the noise signature the same.

The 5S-FE engine is so ultrasmooth for a four-cylinder. Can that trait be unaffected by performance mods? I agree with stuff everyone else said, I don't see anyone being able to make the engine fast realistically without forced induction or N2O. To me, the Camry doesn't even feel like it wants to go faster than it already does. Maybe that's because I'm 100% stock (and will stay that way), so the suspension is really soft.

Cool

An MSD ignition sin't going to add power if your stock system is reliably working.

You can finer tune the ignition timing. It's moderately retarded enough to loose a few horsepower in the sake of reliability. Not much, 2-3hp if I were to guess.
