Last week, snowing occur in Vancouver. The temperature drops to like below 0 and ice is everywhere in the small roads. So I decided to play with my Gen4 Camry XLE. Indeed, she drifts pretty well actually. I am surprised If the temperature is still below zero, I might go out and play again
^ i think this sharing thing doesnt belong in the camry section, should probably go off topic....and i dont wanna call it "drifting" as much as i would wish a camry can drift (a camry being rwd of course) but i'd say its more of power sliding, and isnt a real drift....

technically drifiting says nothing about RWD, AWD, or FWD. Its momentum and angle that dictate a "drift". Just my 2 cents. And this could definatly be in the camry forum, if we were talking technics.

No, it doesn't say anything about the drivetrain config, but many argue that drifting requires the ability to have controlled, continuous loss of traction<--something that can only be done using RWD and AWD (try to think about going around the entire length of a drift course with 0 traction). FWD cannot do this.

i think there are other threads that camry owners saying that they are "drifting" there cars... this is just another of them...and then the arguement about what drifting is and what drifting is not...and it goes on.... this thread will probably be moved soon or locked...
I drift my GEN4 all the time and have a blast with my son, we do it in big parkinglots and dirt roads but its all about carrying the speed and controling the rear brakes cause you don't have the rear wheels to help push you sideways

im just here to share experience not to argue on an invented term... so i will call it "@#$%" ~ just 2 @#$% twice recently due to heavy snow fall ... but since the temp is sooo low ... the floor is pretty much filled with hard and bumpy ice ~ my 99 camry and my frd's 04 rsx type-s was doing some @#$% ... he also argued the term but i said 'watever just do it' ~ now ... as a result ... 1 of my tire got a hole and both my rear dump brake is quite damaged i think ... E-brake cable also loose ~ getting thigns fix by a frd soon ... after all snow and ice melt ~ @#$% was fun tho ... just not something to do everyday :-P
