Alltrac....what exactly is it?

There's a '90 Camry in the classifieds here for like $1600, and it comes with alltrac...I've seen it mentioned around here before, is it just a 4wd system for the Camry? And, assuming the car runs fine, and there's nothing major wrong with it, do you think $1600 would be a good deal for a '90 Camry with Alltrac? I'm thinking about going to check it out, but if it's not worth it, then I'll just go after a regular model...

Cool

It's an AWD Camry. Camry chassie with an AWD Celica drivetrain. If it's actually in good condition, then that's very low.

Be sure you check it out very well. Most older AWD cars were driven into the ground, evne if the owner<s> never did any tuning.

toysrme: is it AWD or 4WD on the all trac??? AWD is 10x better than 4WD.

i have always been curious about this and now an appropriate thread came up so i feel like i can ask and waste the least amount of bandwith. of course i could do a search but...

Alltrac = AWD

I would buy it for $1600 if it is in decent condition. I have an Alltrac Previa that is unparalleled for winter driving.
