any of the 3sge should work fine... and you should swap the tranny too... you can still keep it auto but the 3sfe tranny isn't meant for that kind of power

Use the Search function, for this has been discussed many times.

Talisman18 did the swap, which you should find in your search results.

talisman did a 3sfe to jdm 3sfe swap. there's another dude on here that did it too but i cant remember what his nick is. the swap is simple enough and it'd be easiest to use a gen1 or gen2 3sge, as they are easiest to come by. if you have time and money try and get the gen 3 3sge or beams 3sge(very rare). your auto may hold up i'm not sure but i'd reccomend going to manual all the same. however if you can find a st162 celica that came with the 3sge with auto transimission then that may be easier, keeping in mind that you may need another tranny ecu.

Cheers

I have a celica gts with the same auto trans that my camry has, so the trans is ok, its the one with the power-econo button on the center console, thats the easy part, now the hard part, you need all the engine wiring and the ecu for a 3sge auto trans setup, good luck

Good luck finding a 3SGE with an auto tranny, the harness and the ECU. I looked for MONTHS AND MONTHS but never found one with all those. I finally just had to go with the JDM 3SFE swap like Talismen. but you have to have the harness and the computer other wise it will be a pain in the ass, or it wont work at all.

im tellin ya dude, i looked for like 6months, i talked to 4 different importers and not one of them could find what you are looking for. it does exist but not all togeather. Im betting the only way you'll get it is if you find a car in a junkyard with the engine and tranny you are looking for. But if you do find one, make sure its not a Gen1 3SGE, with T-VIS. those are pointless, better to get a jdm 3SFE than a tvis equiped GE. Try and find at least a second gen or if you are really lucky a third gen. both have much more hp. good luck dude, but like i said, i tryed for 6months and couldnt find shit.

no, im not 100% sure, but i think the only ones that are VVT-i are the BEAMS engines, and you are NOT going to find those. lol.
