OK, I'm back again for a new question....Just finished searching under fuel leak, gas leaking, and leaking gas...and I can't find what I'm looking for.
Either way about 2 weeks ago now I started to smell gas while driving. I was about 1/4 tank at the time so the next day when I filled up I looked at the tank while at the pump. I saw gas coming down the rear of the tank. *facing the back of the car* When I got home after toping it off I got under the car again and looked. I could easily see where fuel had been dripping down the side. Oh, Sorry this is on a 93 Camry of course

...but anyways...If you know the tank then you know there is that lip where the two halves of the tank meet. I couldn't see the fuel comming from the top of the tank, but about 2 inches above that lip there was a wet line extending all the way around the tank. The lip itself had gas pooled up on it and it would run down the side of the heat shield for the exaust. I couldn't see any wetness from the fuel lines, or vent lines, nor could I see a crack. I took the tank out this morning and still can not see a crack. There is no sign of fuel coming from the fuel pump area, nor do I see a large hole, crack or anything on the tank. Does anyone here have a clue to what could be causing the fuel to seap out? I am taking the tank to a shop tomorrow to have it inspected and possibly rewelded at that seam but I am not sure if it could be comming from anywhere else. So if anyone here has got some clues for me to look into I'd greatly appreciate it!
