I hadn't driven my cam in a few days and had my tires turned toward the curb in my driveway. When I started it today, I had a lot of trouble turning my steering wheel. Had to force it to turn and then heard pop It drove fine so hopefully I didn't cause any damage from that, but how else am I supposed to drive without turning the wheel

Winter rocks! I love how other people here (Baltimore, MD) make a HUGE deal about 1" of snow. Of course it is a huge deal; they have no idea how to drive in snow.
It makes me feel all warm and toasty every time someone whines about snow or the cold air. I just think of the snow days that I used to get as a kid (suburban NYC). Of course being a 25 min walk from work and not having a fixed schedule make snow easier to live with. Just wear more/better clothing if it's cold.
I'm almost giddy about the 6-12" of snow predicted for tomorrow (what Stryker360 mentioned). Makes me feel like a kid again. If only I had time to go skiing.
Winter = not having to feel bad for having a dirty car.
I live in the Florida Keys...I went to the beach today. I even went swimming. I love winter, because I get to gloat about something. Don't feel so bad guys, My camrys front end is missing the headlights and grill, and it won't start or hold a charge. It also has bald tires, bad motor mounts, and a really bad oil leak.

my camry sounds reaaaally funky when it starts in the freezing cold (-26)
and weird, my brake pedal was so stiff it wouldnt go down, it took 3 good pumps then it went to normal
yeah same thing here, i guess the brakes just get frozen in this cold weather, that happened to me every morning, and it was only like in the low 20's...so it was just below freezing!
winter sucks, cant wait for summer again

i like winter, cause its a good time to take apart your car and work on it longterm. as long as you have a garage to work in, that is...
now driving in winter, don't mind snow at all, but its sooo cold.. the ps pump don't like it either. at least you boost hard!
Oh man, I hate starting my car when it's this cold out... that's what the sister's Escort is for
MY car actually stalled the other day when I started it, which kinda pissed me off, even my old '87 didn't stall when it got this cold. Definitely heard some new noises when the motor was running cold, but it sounded fine when warmed up... PS pump went on strike the other day, again due to the coldness and I think my RF wheel bearing was makin noise (kind of a low-pitched whirring) that it didn't before. Again, I think it's just the cold...
As much as it goes against what I believe in, when it's this close to zero out I always let it run for a minute or two, not so much to get it warm but to make sure the engine is well-oiled before I head out. My valves seem to knock a bit in the extreme cold, but that goes away after about a minute. On warmer days, it gets no more than 30 secs- a bit generous, but I have a 162k motor! It does have fresh rod bearings but I still don't want to take the chance of fukkin things up.
Keep in mind that this is cold NY winters, idk how you Canadians do it in temps way colder than what I'm bitchin about

Only one I have had a problem with my brakes in the cold, and it was on my old Camry. They somehow iced over. I was driving down my driveway and kept hitting the brakes and had it pushed down with all my weaight, I was actually out of my seat pushing so hard! Finally, aboit 5 feet before the raod at the end of my driveway they caught.....scariest thing that had ever happened.
Still have my old Camry and start it once in a while. Has 190k miles. Started it like 3 times in the past month and had not been started in a week. So when I went home yesterday decided to try to start it in 0 degrees.....The FN thing started without a problem!!!!! It started better then most of my friends newer cars with less miles!!!!
Sounded weird for a couple mimutes, but then sounded normal. After a few minutes I took it up and down the driveway a few time just to get it going (not registered so have to keep it on the driveway). Then when it was all warmed up I reved it to 5,500 RPM's a few times just to clean it out.

I'm going out to buy my new sub today. These 2 days without it has been killing me. As soon as spring comes, the Camry will be getting a make over. Thumbs up.
