my '95 camry le v6(1mz-fe) is OBDII and has R134a in the air conditioning system. i believe toyota started using R134a in 94 but im not 100% on that.
i would check the things you mentioned and also the trans fluid condition and the condition of the struts. some say that struts last alot longer, but for safety(because a car with bad struts dives and pitches more during hard braking and emergency manuvers) i like to replace struts between 100K and 120K miles depending on how bouncy the car gets. most important to remember is that toyotas are very reliable cars as long as they have been properly maintained(oil changes, tune ups etc..). a poorly maintained toyota can be just as unreliable if it has had a poor maintaince history. check it out and use your judgement. listen to the engine and test the performance of the transmission. basically take it for a good 15min, at least, test drive.
i purchased my cam in september '04 for $4000K with 120,000 miles. its an le that was in very clean condition. so i would go check it out if you want. sounds like a decent deal.
