Sorry to hear that. I have seen that kit before. What compression are you going to choose? Good luck in the rebuild. I look forward to hearing about the progress

You definitely do not want to go lower compression!

For supercharger, I can assure you that the blower will be maxed out before compression will cause a problem. If you do lower the compression, you will have to spin that blower to make more boost to recover for the loss... You will be maxing out the supercharger a lot earlier. By upping the boost on the SC, you will encounter pumping losses and heat soak issues, which in turn would actually be more prone to detonation.

When I did my rebuild, I used all OEM gaskets, seals and bearings. The kit you have there does not include an oil pump and water pump --> you might want to replace those along the way. You might also want to get some ARP mainstuds as well to further increase the rigidity of the bottom-end.

The kit is priced ok, but I would not use their copper headgaskets. They are not ideal for a street motor because they tend to leak over time. They seal excellent (great for track motors), but are not meant to seal for extended mileage; plus I suggest you to O-ring the block and a receiver groove on the heads when using copper headgaskets.

The newer OEM 1MZ-FE headgaskets are the best out there (multi-layer steel) you can buy... I suggest sticking with the OEM Toyota headgasket

About the rods... does Eagle make 1MZ-FE rods? Last time I called Eagle they never had any 1MZ-FE rods (about half a year ago).
