Exhuast parts question...

Ok so I am putting together all the parts for my cat-back, since i can get them a lot cheaper on the web than at a car shop... i am just checking that these will all be compliant with a 99 camry....

the piping will be 2.5 inches from the cat back...

the cat i wanna go with is a magnaflow high flow cat, does the 1mz require anything special? here is what i picked out...

http://www.completeexhaust.com/produ...products_id=28

the resonator will either be a 12" or 16"... not sure yet but pretty standard, might just get that at the shop since they are like $90 and i haven't seen a greater deal on the web, if you guys know of one, that would be nice

and the muffler is a dual tip chrome boy, looks basically like this guy

basically i am just checking that the cat i am buying will work, and if anybody knows of a good site for resonators, or has a good arguement for a 12" or 16" i am game

nate

Cool

Do a 16" resonator. You might like the agressive sound of a smaller one(or not res), but the smaller you go the more raspy you're going to get and then I'll call you ricerboi till you change it.
Just don't use a flowmaster muffler, blaaaah it's probably more restrictive than your OEM muffler! hahahahaha Seriously! Any high-flow cat should be better that stock so no biggie there.
^^^ You can buy Y-pipe's for like $25 or so off ebay, or online shops. Get one of those and see if they can weld it up for you for cheap!

Since the 1mz-fe is an OBD-II car, you should have a post-cat o2 sensor. They'll need to mount that because OBD-II cars like to know when their cat's are working

i do not know the part # on that muffler, it was just a random pic... the muffler i got is not a magnaflow, but instead just some random company...

Yeah i have the carbon fiber one but i wanna change it for a couple reasons...
1) I think that muffler is too small, it does not fill out the back end
2) i wanna go with a full cat-back, not just the muffler
3) I bumper it going up an incline, so a little piece rattles sometimes
4) I think the oval design with dual tips fits the camry better

yeah i know, but ehhh my carbon fiber one that i bought was pretty cheap and i liked the sound, i will see how good this muffler looks when it comes in the mail and what not... it is hard for me to make up my mind on what look i want half the time

oh yeah one other thing, i found a source for a piece of mandrel bent piping, it comes with a 45 degree bend and a 180, would that be all that the shop would need to do my work do you think?

why would you need a 180 bend for?
