On my 98 camry the paint is starting to crack on the drivers side front fender (fine line cracks). What would cause this and how would you go about fixing it? Also, any one know the price of a new front bumper cause some of the paint there has come off.
well, you don't need a new front bumper, the one on it should be fine. All you need is to have it painted. As for the cause, there are as many as days of the year. Improper painting, bad conditions, normal wear and tear. The elements are hell on paint, I'm suprised it lasts as long as it does.

not to sound like an ass, but do you normally wash/wax your car?
providing you take care of the paint, you shouldn't have problems like this.
without knowing where you live or your average driving situations, I can't explain what happened.
just consider this though:
1) highway driving usually means a lot of rocks flying up that can chip paint
2) if you live by the ocean, oxidation happens quite easily
3) if you don't take care of your car, it won't take care of you.

I'm orignal form missouri and now living out of stae going to college. the lady i bought the car treated it like crap (ie didn't change trans fluid for 130,xxx) Your probable right and I should wax it but I where I live I have a dirt parking lot so that makes it a little hard. I guess I'll have it done professional any idea what that would cost
i have those cracks on my bumber as well, but minw are from bumping my friends cars
dude, don't bump your friends car. Try a local wrecking yard for your car and dismantle the pcs. yourself. You'll have to paint it anyway if u end up paint the whole car.
but I where I live I have a dirt parking lot so that makes it a little hard.
So wash it else where and use a synthetic, or acrylic wax isntead of a petroleum/Carnauba one.
Synthetic/acrylics generally don't attract dust like the high end carnauba's do. In general they have more of a reflective effect instead of a deep wet effect.(good for lighter colors)
They also tend to last much longer.
I agree, it's more than likely wear and tear. Orange peel, and paint peeling normally happens in the first few months of buying a new car from improper prep work when spraying.
After that it's just people bashing shit, and rock flying into your car. My car is horrible... It only get's my pass from a lot of TLC.
