Quick question...can i use two spacers together? I need a 1" spacer and all i got are bunch of 1/2" spacers. Is it a bad idea to put two 1/2" spacers together to make that 1" spacer?
spacer for hwat? hweels? its bad to use spacers full stop. ifyou mean for speakers.. err go ahead...

Let me clarify this. In order for me to fit my 18x8 rims I need to use 1" spacers so the tires wont rub against the shocks. I do not have 1" spacers, but instead I have a bunch of 1/2" spacers and was wondering if stacking two 1/2" spacers together to make 1" spacer will be a problem? or is it ok temporary?
Why not use 1" spacers? I know someone with a 93 camry with exactly the same rims and this guy is using 1" spacers with no problems. But yea i am wondering if using two 1/2" spacers together is a safety issue.
if you want to do it the safe way, get longer wheel bolts, a 1" spaer that fits the center hob of the wheel and the cars hub itself (custom made), so in the end, it owuld cost you l3ess to sell the wheels and get something different.

they sell spacers in different thickness' that bolt onto your stock hub and then you bolt your rims to the studs that are attached to the spacer. I know of people who drag race with these. these type are safe, but need to be properly torqued and rechecked regularly. I use 1.25" spacers-no problems, but I did have to install camber kit to compensate for uneven/premature tire wear, which is common when using some of the wider aftermarket rims.

Thanks all.
I think, this is what you are looking for.H&R spacers
Spacers are risky. This has something to dow ith the Offset design of the wheels. It is related to handling and is a safety issue. Need to consider your bolts, too, it is recommended that a minimum of 6 turns needed to have a solid grip of the bolt. This is a design requirement. Spacers will lesses your available bolt screws lenght.
Check Tire Rack Wheeltech. I read it from this forum and this is awesome stuff they talk and know about. Do not risk safety for aesthetics.
the spacers I'm taliking about have their own seperate studs to accomodate the rim, so stud length is not compromised. torqueing the bolts to the required specs and rechecking at regular intervals will address any saftey issues. number of turns is irrelevent. measure the torque using a torque wrench and there will be no guessing. you will know exactly how tight the bolt it is.
I already replaced the bolts on the rear hub with longer ones. I dont need spacers up front because the rims fit perfect without rubbing. I'm thinking that will look different tho with spacers in the back pushing the wheels and no spacers up front. It only cost me $60 to replace the bolts, so I might go ahead and do that on the front hub as well.
