Wanna make a timer using my thermo fan

Ive got a bit of an electronics question that i wanted some advice/guidance on.
I want my car to keep running when my thermo fan is on.
It's just a thing i have...i don't like turning the engine off when my thermo is running, coz it's feels like its hot.
Just need a way to have my engine stay on until the thermo is off.
If the thermo is off anyways..the motor should just switch straight off.

I was thinking of using the thermo power supply to switch a relay.
The relay would provide power to my 'start' wire...which would be piggybacked to it.

The only thing is...if the thermo fan comes on for wateva reason...say i switch my AC on...the engine will try to start...which isnt good.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Ive got one already in there.
However...i want it to be controlled via the thermo fan.
The turbo timer is simply a set amount of time.
I want my thermo fan to control the amount of time the car runs on for.
I do have a blitz turbo timer installed...perhaps i can use that in some way..but i don't see how.

The timer doesn't connect to starter, it just keep power to ECU and ignition. Find connection on Turbo timer that keep the circuit powered. Make a similar circuit with the fan switch. Connect it parallel with Turbo timer.
I hope you know what I'm trying to say.....

i think some acura's (from being a valet parker) used the radiator fan to stay on after the engine is off and keys removed till the thermo is in close position. Would this help you...???

Hmm sortof.
Problem i have is when u switch the thermo fans on with the AC...there will be 12V on the start wire...so that is not good.
I only want it to stay on when the thermo is still running ava the car has been driven.
If the thermo's aren't on..the car should switch off straight away.

Just hook up the trigger for a relay to the power for your radiator fan(s) and then use that to power your ignition. If they are getting power, it will keep your ignition on. This is exactly what a turbo timer does, only with a timing circuit. You should be turning your A/C off a little while before stopping the car to dry out the interior vents anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Really though, the difference between your fans being on and being off is only about 10-15*F - do you really think that's going to make much of a difference? Stop worrying about it. I have had personal experience with two camrys and both ran/run perfect for over 580k total miles without ever worrying about that (yes, seriously over half a million miles). My advice is to not worry about it.

Hmm.. thats the way i was thinking to do it. Thanks mate.
I guess its also more of a novelty thing. Just for the fact of mucking around with it.
Realisticlly, there is no purpose...

Sometimes its not the difference, its a peace of mind....Quickquestion for people here, how do i keep the radiator fan running when the the thermo is in open position (when the car is turned off)? - cus this thread got me thinking...i always idle my car for close to a 3-45 seconds with hood open just before i call it in for the night (i travel 40 miles back from work, all highways, all 90+ speeds)....

Dude,

I do 160 miles round trip every other day between NYC & PA in my 88 Gen2 I4, and that's besides local driving around the areas.
When I get to my destination, I just let the car idle for a couple of minutes before I shut it off; usually as I'm getting my stuff together before I get out of the car.

Like you, I also drive on the highway in a "highly spirited" manner.
And in the same fashion that Charlie assured Jetspeed, you also have nothing to worry about.
