broke my corners

well on my 96 camry i tried to take out the yellow plastic inside the corners. so i read about people microwaving to open it up somewhere before and my friend did that in his civic headlights to open his up so i thought i would try it. well i popped it in the microwave and 2 seconds later, electricity so i hurry and open it and the glass thing inside is now cracked.
is there some way to fix it or can i just take out the glass part thing or do i have to just buy new ones?

I always thought you had to put it in a conventional oven, not a microwave...
