I just bought Eibach lowering springs for my car. They will lower it 1.2 inches. How will the ride feel if i keep the original shocks? Will the original shocks break or go bad right away? If i want to buy new shocks, what kind? and is there a special size i need to buy? Someone help !!!

Yes Eibach springs will be firmer, which means you will fill more bumps and pot holes on the road. BUT your handling will be about 50 times better. Try to turn going 35MPH, you won't feel the body roll. It kind of feels like your car is on rail...

Your shocks will go bad faster because factory struts are not made to handle that kind of abuse... Get yourself some tokico struts. They will cost your arm and a leg...

Lots of Camry/Solara people don't like it when they buy aftermarket lowering springs because the car looses the reason they bought their cars in first place (Smooth ride)... So my suggestion to you is BE PREPARED. Also if you want to sell your spring. Let me know... I feel like an old man riding in stock Solara...

The technician quoted me about 100 bucks for labor to install the springs! They said they gotta remove the back seats to get to the rear springs.

How about you guys? How much did you pay when you lowerd your car?

That's about the price. Yes, they do need to remove the rear seat.. but it is relatively fast and easy to do if you know where the clips are.

Question, I just got a '99 Camry v6 5 speed. It's stock right now except for the black emblems I just put on(+5-10hp)hehe, I am interested in better handling, possibly even auto-Xing soon. Would it be better to invest in eibach springs, and consequently struts, or to put that $ into lighter weight 17" wheels/low profile tires? Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, won't it be hard to fit those factory Wheels/tires under the 1.6inch drop of the Eibachs? I think it would be better to upgrade your Alloys first before chaning your springs/struts.

But from a performance standpoint, you will benefit more from the lower point of gravity than the lighter, flashy-er Wheels

So you think the drop will be too low for my 15's? My local tuner here in Richmond, VA thought it would be ok... Also thinking about the Greddy Evo catback($550+install), anyone have any thoughts on it?
