best cold air intake

Hi my friend wanted to mod his car up a little bit and asked me if I could find a good cold air intake for him. So I searched around and did'nt find much for the 1991 3sfe motor that he has. Can u guys give me a few links as to where I can find him a decent intake for a decent price?

Thanks

I was told that most camrys have no real intake restriction; head work is much more useful. Sounds like that's kinda out of your range tho. Next best move is K&N filter, and I just put some dryer ducting up to the stock airbox. Does much better than the rest of the system (stock exhaust, blech)

El Proto makes a CAI for it (elprototypes.com) and you can also make one yourself, which is the route I'd take.

DYI is best. Cone filter of your choice and a few pipes with bends.
A K&N drop-in filter make good stock CAI.

Stock is cold air. The stock air box get air from behind head light. There is a resonator box behind fender. Remove it and it may sound louder. Usually remove battery and you can see all the piping.

yup and right along side the radiator. I don't know why none of you like to admit it, but the stock location isn't ideal by a long-shot.

We like this because all you have to replace is a big, heavy resonator with a little bit of piping, you can keep the stock airbox (probably), and there is metal between the radiator and the cold, cold air that can be found right behind the driver's side brake duct. It'd probably be a lot better if it scavenged air from under the windshield wiper cowl, but I think rain'd be a problem. My only problem with this system is, after you idle at a stoplight, that fat black airbox gets pretty hot, but it cools down quickly once you get air flowing thru again.

I've already tried the plugged resonator mod, which netted very little gains on the bottom-end.
Similarly, the throttle response seemed to have suffered.
