Hey Guys!

I know someone that is looking for a trailer hitch for a 2000 Camry. Does anyone know where he could find one USED or NEW? Was there one available form the factory?

Any help is good help!!

Hey, you could hang the balls on the hitch! Or if you combined the two, you'd have a... anyway, back to the topic at hand

NO There were none from the factory. Only way I see to do it is to get a universal one from lowes or walmart or somewhere and having it bolted or welded on. Why though, the camry is only rated at 2k lbs. towing?

be careful towing, the camry will have no trouble pulling the weight (unless your pulling a house). The camry will have most of the trouble stopping, i would upgrade your brake pads or even maybe your entire brake system.

I got one for my wife's 98 Camry a few years ago from Reese Products. Go to their website and find out what fits your car. If your car isn't listed on their site, then give them a call. Once you find what fits your car you can go to Wal-mart with the Reese Products part number and have them special order it for you. It's the cheapest way I could find. I think it was less than $80 about 3 years ago. It was an easy bolt-on. You do have to remove the rear tie down plates as 2 of the 4 bolts go in to those holes. No drilling was required for my car. I believe it was a class 1 or 2 hitch, but that's about all you can tow with the Camry; 2000 pounds max. Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable towing over 1000 pounds. I never have towed with mine. I use it to install their hitch mounted bike carrier on my car. It keeps the bikes from getting near the car and scratching the paint.

I have a 2005 SE V6 (gen 5).

I have a Hidden Hitch as a (factory approved) dealer installed option.

I have pulled 1500 pounds, trailer and cargo total weight without any problem.

If you are only going to tow 2000 pounds or less (total) I see no need to go to a truck or SUV.
