Electronic AC/Heater Controls

Is there a difference between the Gen 2 and 2.5 'electronic pushbutton' AC/Heater controls? Apart from looks.

Mine is playing up (slider is a bit dodgy and the 3 of the Fan speed settings don't work), and i've located one from Gen 2.5. Looks alot new (black, rounded buttons) and i just need to know if it can swap straight ova.

i got a 93 with 3 dial-controls, one mechanical lever, 1 switch, and 1 servo-control switch.

I just lubed the mechanical hot/cold mixer linkages with some spray silicone lubricant with some very handsome results... if it ain't much trouble, try to download the pertinant info in the techinfo website, I do not believe that there is any other online source of info as in-depth as that - at least as far as climate controls are concerned.

For sure..sounds easy to fix up..just wanted to know if the updated model uses the same wiring and mounting system..i'm pretty sure they would..just wanted to know other opinions.
