Please use the search function in the future, the subject of intakes has been discussed to death.

They will all pass smog, an intake doesn't do anything with out other upgrades sept let more air in and sound cool.
You will not gain any "HP" with just an intake ...maybe one if you're lucky

...and please read the signature rules - http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t20118.html

a cheaper one will do the samething. My recomendation would be to buy a cheap one off ebay or the like and get a better filter, like a K&N. ...and maybe if you want more have a cold air extension made at a local exhaust shop and ceramic coat the whole thing.

...after all it is just a bent pipe. The WeaponR one just has a cool picture of how its suppose to work. (all those chambers and such won't do a thing)

Maybe I might get it from eBay because my stock plastic tube is breaking that hold the stock air intake. I called the Toyota service they say it cost $100 for the plastic tube. For that price I might just get a new air intake system that works for my 3vZ-FE.

Ebay's the way to go. probably be around 40-50 with shipping. But all intakes are the same period. Its just bent pipe, couplers, clamps, and a filter. I built my own CAI within a week's time. Although I'm missing holes for the sensors, it works really well. Good luck to you.

A true CAI (cold air intake) is the best route if you're going to perform such an upgrade.
This insures cold air feeding the engine.

On a short ram setup, you're still feeding warm air to the engine when the car is not in motion.

To each its own, but you're better off leaving the factory setup in place as opposed to going with a short ram.

Maybe I'm from the olde skool, but the very same time that intakes and vtecs were becoming popular - I had just bought me a car with a monster 502 cubic inch engine that - at least to me - sounded so unbelievably better than any moddified intake 4 cylinder car I've ever heard of..

So for all you developers, how about designing an intake that sounds stock -except when you are really trying to go fast? The one thing I find hella annoying is a loud-exhaust honda or something going below the speed limit on the road, bouncing up and down, and I end up passing them like they were stalled on the road..
My V6 Camry 5Sp sounds more like a pissed off V8, very close to a monster 502 cu inch engine.
A cold air intake doesn't really give any sound, aside from the incoming air passing through the filter.
