Get a filter and adapter off ebay, then make custom piping if you want a cold air intake (instead of just a short ram). If you are willing to spend more money, get the EL Prototypes CAI.

You can try to search for some intake on eBay. They won't have brand name, but it will still do the job. As far as I know, the only intake system that AEM makes for ANY Camry is the 95-96 V6 models. Other than that, you have to either make it out of PVC piping or you can buy stainless steel models off of eBay.
Since your car uses a mass air flow sensor, I believe it's harder to upgrade your intake system (correct me if i'm wrong, I have 94' 5s-fe and don't know bout the 3s-fe). Your best bet is to take out your stock airbox and replace it with an after market high-flow cone filter. You just need an adapter to make the filter fit the pipes. Try this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33659
This should be WELLLL within your range
you ain't gonna get much for $40.00...cold air intake is the way to go. the brand names run close to $200.00... and the air it sucks ain't all that cold.really just better breathing. at best with that mod alone you would pick up a horse or 2.. hardly even noticeable.you'll get a little better throttle response.
do as white90dx suggested. go to ebay and buy a K&N filter and the adapter for for AFM. cold air intakes are way over rated. with claims of HP that just don't happen with that mod alone. I bought a cheap one off ebay-$30.00. but like I said cheap.it didn't even fit in the engine compartment like it was supposed to. I modified it and it works great. and chrome too.. if you're interested, I'll look and see which vendor I bought it from ... but they're all over ebay.
cut a big hole in the bottom of ya stock airbox. cost: nothing, gains: RRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR

thanks for your replies and keep posting and anyone who recommended ebay please post up links if u find a good deal. i will look too but two heads are better than one
^^^^^ That should give your car a nice sound. But performance? I can't tell you for sure because I havn't tried the product (I have a 94'). I'm sure it's much more free-flowing then your stock intake though however.

Exactly!
So by "Best one for $30" you mean which sucks the least? Because you can't get jack for that much
