I tired unlocking my drivers side door, and it wouldn't even turn, I tried taking it out, and it wouldn't come out... So I kept shaking the keyuntil it finally came out. Tried it on my passenger side door, and it opened fine.
Anyways, After looking at the key, the key is very worn out. I stopped by Home Depot and asked if they can make me a replacement key and they said it was too worn out to make a duplicate.
So now where do I go to get a replacement key? I need it asap, because sometimes it doesn't even fit in the ignition....
btw... I'm driving a 94 V6 XLE, if that helps anything.
A Toyota dealership might be able to cut you a new key.
I've asked about it before (my master key is worn out), but they said my car was to old. Something about their computers not having the info for my 88 Camry.
Go to your dealer and give them the vin # of your car as well as show them your id and the registration/pink slip. They should be able to make a key off of your Vin #. I know for the newer toyota's they can do this. It might be worth a try.

Yup, did that for my '92 Camry.

clean the old key with alcohol and place a layer(s) of tape on the ridges of the key. then have it duplicated, the new key will be thicker. You can try filing it down with a file, until it works and lubricate the keyholes with key lub
Ugggg, do not totally remember because it was a 4 years ago, but if I remember, it was somewhere between $15-$25 for the master key. It worked great.....untill I dropped it down the storm drain the next year...... But yeah, they just need th vin #. I even called them up over the phone, they made the key, then I went down and picked it up.

Ok. Thanks so much for the info. I'll go to my toyota dealership and ask.

MY key got all worn down to crap, so I had to change out the lock cylinder for the ignition. Removed the old one and and I could start it with a pair of pliers...kinda cool. But the new lock cylinder was $75.
