ran a 05 wrx, not bad

last night, i ran my friends 05 wrx, we did 1/4 mile, it was pretty close, i would usually lose by half a car length. I think it is due to my car weight, 04 camry se v6-3400lbs? compare to his wrx at 3000lbs, the power of both engines are bout the same wrx-227hp @6k, 217 @ 4k, while mine is 225 hp @ 5.6 k, 240 lb.-ft. @ 3.6k. So i was wondering are there any mods out there yet for the 04 camry se v6-3mzfe?

and that wrx shoudlve killed you (after 1st gear) if it was launching properly or even 1/2 properly.

Yeah...the wrx (STI or not) should have handed you your ass...though a win is a win. Just supercharge the car...get it over and done with.

What? Lose by half a car between your camry and the WRX? It's either Subaru is wrong with their 1/4 timing, or someone's isn't shifting it fast enough. Either way, good show!

He said SEV6....which is auto of course. V6 Camrys only have auto available. Sad, because the new 2005 Tacomas 4x4 V6 have 5-spd manuals. They should try for the V6 Camrys next?

Hmmm..not from a dead stop. If driven properly a WRX can rip a 0-60 in just 5.3 secs whereas a Camry V6 has a 0-60 of 7 secs flat. Although, WRX falls flat after 75-80 mph since it does not have a top end you can take a WRX from a roll on the highway where they are as slow as a dog off boost, but not a chance from a deadstop.

practice...

hold the brake, and lightly step on the gas to get your revs up, then let go of the brake and step on it...

find the right RPM that lets you launch, without too much wheelspin..
