alt. going bad? and celing falling down

so only now i get around to doing this about 2 weeks ago at 3 in the moring i'm driving home from my gf place and notice that my headlights dim when i use the power windows ...... of course me with my crazy ass grounding system on the car is surpised at this .... i had the stock (non-jbl) stereo kinda loud ..... so i'm starting to think my alt is failing on me ..... am i right in this asumption?

and then the celing top thing that sags down when the glue gets old and blah blah blah ..... so basicaly all i have to do with that is remove some of the trim around it and spary some glue there and it should be good agian right?

now with the seat belts has anyone actualy been able to repaire theres with the sagging? you know retention the spring? my dad done it before with an old benz .... i looked at it but havent been able to get the plastic housing open to retention it.

well if i suceed in fixing any of these expect the diy for them

also a question on the oil .... 1mz ... sposta use 5w-30 .... normaly do used some lucas this time by grideline sugestion about 3 months ago about my vlave tick (i fixed it then) and noticed it was thick as gear oil ..... and the engine ran quieter ..... my sister car ran quiter when i switched it over to 20w due to an oil leak ..... so would 10w be fine for the engine long term?

Sounds like you alt might be in the early stages of dieing... It's obviously not too bad because your lights aren't dim all the time when your stereo is on, and there's no battery light on... I would take it to some auto store and get it checked. A lot of places will do it for free. I would do that, and if it is dieing, either rebuild it yourself, or buy a new one and put it in yourself.

autozone or kragen will test your alternator/battery for free. plus its an easy diy to swap in a new alternator.

my ceiling used to sag too. my body shop guy replaced the clips for free. not quite like new, since the panel is warped from sagging for years. but its better than before. never tried glue before though.

good luck

My lights always dim on me, but that because I have a sound setup, with ground system and without a cap. I think for me it's just normal though because I've just recently rebuilt my alt. My ceiling is the same thing. It's an easy fix, I just haven't gotten around to gluing it back.

Hey, you spelled y name wrong! lol
Yeah, im glad the Lucas helped your engine. It didn' help mine. lol my noisy lifter is evil.

And about the belt, just change the whole belt. I got mine from the junkyard for like 5 bux. All you have to do is remove 3 bolts. I did it myself during one of our meets and it took literally 6 minutes.

ya i just looked at the belt it is imposibal to re coil it with out having to do some crazy work at it ....

in todays failed attampt at fixing those things

seatbelt: ya cant recoil them .... actualy i decoiled mine and then hoped that if i coil the seat belt back then the put the decoiled spring back in it would not be total screwed .... and i was right ..... still sucks just not as bad ... i hope

head liner: it a pice of molded foam with the cloth glued over it ...... well i just didnt care to open up part of the cloth from the foam (still sealed around the edges) and spray some glue in there to glue it back up
