94V6Camry, that indeed looks like the Idle Speed Control Valve (ISCV), however the circle you have shown is the electrical connector to the ISCV. The valve is held to the throttle body by 2 screws. As a matter of fact, I too want to clean the valve in my camry and am doing some research before I start opening things up. Look up the recent post by ekim15112 (?) of Feb 1 (wish I knew how to attach that link here.....), there are some pictures there of the idle control valves for all camry's..keep us posted..

Ok we need to be clear on what you want. A/C -> Air Conditioning. ICV -> Idle Control Valve.

^ Your looking for the a/c idle up VSV (vacuum switching valve).

No idea where it is on your engine. But I found some info.

Here you go...

Here is a larger, exploded image of the IAC:
http://www.mindspring.com/~acuralegend/IAC-valve.jpg

Here is your image:

This should answer your questions. The IAC valve on the 3vz-fe has either two or three screws that allow you to take it apart (after you remove it from the intake), there you will see the little cone shaped piston that get really gummed up (and starts sticking). After you clean it sufficiently, I would suggest placing an inline filter on the PCV hose to keep the IAC clean in the future.

After I cleaned mine, I have had absolutely no more problems with the car stalling at idle. It is a relatively quick job, to solve a frustrating problem.

Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV), it routes fumes in the crankcase (not talking about combustion chamber) back through the intake to be combusted. It is an emissions device, you really could remove it all together or unhook it off of the intake tube and use a PCV filter on the end of the disconnected hose. Then plug up the hole in the intake. like this:

more info on PCV system

Or leave everything hooked up and just use an inline filter like this except get a clear one. Cut the PCV hose and use hose clamps to attach one of these.

Downloadable PDF--Except the one that is a sticky on this board (for the 1mz-fe), I do not know of one. I got that exploded view from the Haynes. Best to try and get a Camry Service Manual from Toyota, it is far more detailed.

Do not worry about replacing the gasket, unless it is destroyed, but i think it has metal in it. Mine was fine, I just reused it. BTW the gasket is between the intake and this IAC valve.

For clarification: To remove the IAC, you will have to remove some bolts I think three. Once you get it off of the car then disassemble the IAC unit (three screws), and begin cleaning.

I would suggest brake fluid cleaner, found at local autoparts store...But I guess WD40 will do, it does have some degreasing, degunking properties.

thanks
