Hello again everyone. First of all thanks to those who already checked out the pics on Cardomain and left some positive feedback. Below are pics of my new OEM VIS Carbon Fiber hood for my 05
As some of you may notice from a previous thread I did get the tint first instead of the lowering springs, but that is next on my list. Also, I still haven't washed it so it aint that pretty yet, but she will be. Now back to the hood...
Installation of the hood required some modifications. I had to raise the latch up a little since where it sat originally it was too low and wouldn't catch on the hood. Also, I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think it sits like maybe a millimeter or a centimeter farther back of where the OEM hood sat. The holes for the grille were totally off so I had to redrill some and enlarge others.
Not exactly a lot of work, but it was expected since almost all of my friends have had to modify their CF hoods a little. I plan on getting the washer nozzles put in soon and I have yet to work out a solution for the gas shock that raises up the hood. I had to remove it. I have an idea on how to fix that problem, but haven't really worked on it. Any suggestions?

are you going to mod it to the extent of your Sentra.?
I plan to surpass my Sentra. The Camry will have all the cosmetics along with some audio/video enhancements, but unlike my Sentra I want to mod the engine. Hopefully I'll be able to get a TRD supercharger to fit (the Scion tC one should fit, but it might void the warranty).

I want to get leather interior and add video screens to each headrest. I have the drop down type for my Sentra, but I don't like it because it partially blocks my rear view and makes it easier for cops to sneak up on me.
I want to replace the headunit with either the Pioneer AVIC-N1 or something along those lines. I'm not sure what kind of stock speakers come on the Camry so if they aren't something good I will most likely replace those too. Not sure if they are the cheap paper kind or something worthwile (sp?)

The stock speakers suck, and they're 6x9's in the door, so you need to get some Adapters to fit a 6.5"
Those both look good. I'd gladly go for either one. The AVIC-N2 with real time traffic conditions though is something that really caught my eye. I could sure use one of those for when driving in L.A.

No hood pins yet. Still debating whether I should or not. I have them on my Sentra, but I really do like the smooth clean look. I know its for safety reasons, but the hood seems to be holding real good.
I drove for about 2 hours at an average speed of 80 with wind gusts of 30-40 mph and I only saw the hood flex a little once. We'll see.

now I'm jealous. I love the color of your car. ITs the one I wanted. But I bought my camry used and can't be pickey. i've also gown to really like the black. Even if its a MotherF&#$er to keep clean.
Props on the CF hood. I like the black with the blue, looks really sharp. Also what do you think the CF would look like on a Black gen5?
