Arrow Leaking reservoirs..

Coolant reservoir on my 95 I4 Camry, has a small hole - (2x2mm) on the top right corner due to wear and time. Will this be the reason of the Coolant disappearing in 2 weeks time from Full to Nil. I know that the Coolant system works under pressure and vaccum, but with this gaping hole - would there be any pressure? I also did not find leaks anywhere in the system, checked the Radiator (except its underside - no way to get there), radiator hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, reservoir hose. The only mystery are few coolant droplets on the engine bay floor by the radiator - no idea from where . I'm currently driving without a drop in the reservoir, but my needle starts from zero and stays PUT at 1/2 mark. Would be adding some RED in a few days.

My Power steering reservoir has a hairline crack which is leaking too, but very minimal. Would need to replace this box as well. I guess the power steering system should be drained prior to replacing this one?

All inputs and suggestions are welcome..

The coolant is not leaking from the resevoir (if the hole is above the fluid level) There is no pressure in the overflow tank. You could have a leaking water pump or radiator. ( I will remain quiet on other possibilities) Clean it up and try to find the source of leak.

The PS problem I can't say, would be a simple fix once you figure out how to empty PS resevoir.

you know i have that same problem ...... i wount stay at the full line when the engine is cold only when hot even it i add more fluid .... dont worry about it i normaly patch it with some expoxy and its good again for about a year.

now if you lose fluid after your patch it then worry

and a tube of expoxy (or jb weld in my dads pefrance) should be more than $3~4

I noticed driving home one night last winter that my temp needle was climbing at a very high rate. luckily i was a block from my house and nursed the car home. the next morning i noticed that my reservoir was empty so i filled it. took the car to a radiator shop/ family friend and had a leak in the lower hose. had the radiator flushed and the hose replaced.

I would want to have it checked out if i were you, but thats just me. but if you can find the problem yourself first and save some cash

Cool

Epoxy....

No reall in all reality, just go get antoher tank for somewhere. They're cheap. And from now on:
  1. Flush the cooling system every now and then
  2. Never add water only during freezing temperatures
