Interesting info on Engine and Transmissions

Was over at ToyMods.com.au and a piece of info was posted that I found interesting.

"The S, VZ, MZ and L engines all use the same bellhousing pattern, however on twin {think he means quad} cam VZ and MZ engines, the starter motor gets in the way of one of the heads."

Can anyone back that up?

i know the 3s, 1mz and 3vz have the same housing, actually never heard of the L series

now i just wonder who up for swapping in the 5vz if that is true

i also would like to know if they have a FW tranny for an R series engine

The starter motor doesn't get into the way of the heads on a 3vz-fe. It's way out of the way from either one...

The GR series might use the same pattern as well. The U151E (5spd auto) is used on the 1MZ/3MZ, where the 93+ E153 bolts right up to, so it's possible to conclude that the GR series engine can use the E153 since it also uses the U151E.

Interesting...so, if a the E153 works on MZ and VZ blocks...and the U151E is used on MZ blocks..then the U151E could be used on 2VZ and 3VZ blocks...hmmm

but your problem would be that the U151E is an auto tranny and your ecu might not be able to drive it right

you need the 6 speed manual i think they have somewhere ......
