my name is jessica, im new and i used to have a 92 camry deluxe and i have a civic now and im going to sell it to get a new camry (92-96) and this sounds dumb, -but help me im blonde- what is the difference between an LE and an XLE, and are the transmissions on the v6's strong?
im trying to find a camry around the 2000-2500 range with decent miles around the kansas city area if anyone knows where to find one around there.. thanks
XLE is more luxurious... I thing... I believe it just comes with more options but I could be dead wrong. And yes, the transmission son the v6s are much stronger!
xle come with a sunroof, diffrent intererior and i think the cd player was standard
from what i hear yes they are strong espicaly with how much power the hold.
and from what i hear all of kansas is nowheresville ..... my gf had a dream i went to ks and took a walk around town and all i found was a gas station, bank, and a food store ... then she asked if i went left ... and i said yup .... and her and her mom agreeded

^ and leaving it that way!
LE is the trim level up from base
SE is sport
LXE is top trim level
v6 transmissions are fairly strong. Considering they'll hold around 250hp without any help, and mechanically they changed little from 1988-2000.
Don't blame it on being blonde! Lauren will hurt you in one of her "blonde moments"! Welcome to the forum!!!

for anything, anytime; including camry turbos Now with Turbo!
im only sellin the civic b/c it has a curse or something on it i want an SI, but dont have the money, so im just getting another camry.. my dad wants me to also.
I wish I could afford the gas of a V6 Camry. If I could I would definately have a XLE Cam. Sometime in the future though or I might as well upgrade to a Lex then.
my Le came with:
15" wheels instead of 15" on CE
6 speakers instead of 4 on CE
Automatic driver seat controls
...
i think that's about it. I think you can choose v6 for anything. When I was gettting my car, it was $2000 extra for v6 and leather.

from 1992-1996 (Gen 3/3.5), the trim levels are as follows:
DX (base)
SE (sporty, due to the fact that it's based off the DX)
LE (could be had with all the bells and whistles, that equal to the XLE)
XLE (had all the available options standard, and then some)...
the V6 models from 1992-1993 have the 3.0L 3VZ-FE...
from 94-96, the V6 engine changed to the 3.0L 1MZ-FE...
these engines ARE NOT THE SAME, and very little can be swapped between them...
from 1992-1994, the V6 could be had with a 5 speed, 95/96 cant be had with a V6 and a 5 speed...
all 4 cyl (5SFE) models from 1992-1996 could be had with 5 speed...
of course, the 1995/1996 5SFE's had 5 less HP than the 1992-1994 models, due to emmisions...
but i think that only affects california vehicles....
anyway, welcome to TN, and be sure to use the search function if you're unsure..

^ very well said razo
also on that note that 1992-1994 can be with v6 , 5 speed.... also that it only came in Sedan form (4 doors) ??? ....and the 95/96 can be coupe (2 door), v6, but its automatic... someone correct me if i'm wrong...
