Tackling the suspension

Hi, this summer i'm determine to do a tokico and H&R setup. However, this will be my first big mechanical job for my camry, I just need a few question answered b4 I head on tackling my suspension.

First, aside from spring compressor, what other tools do i need? I want to get all the tools I need b4 start going at it.

Second, what other parts should I look into replacing while the suspension is apart already? Strut mount? Strut plate? RSB?

Third, IF i do consider having a shop do the dirty job for me. How much will I be looking at for labour? So i won't get ripped off...

Forth, where would I be able to find the best deal?

Fifth, and last... I see that H&R got 2 models of springs for Camry. What is the difference between OE Sport and Sport springs? Hopefully ppl with H&R springs can give me insight about this.

I won't be doing this setup till like summer, but I'm just trying to organize my plan of approach so I'll be all ready then summer is around.

THANK YOU!!

Get two 1/2" drive sockets for the two strut bolts. Can't remember whether they are 19, 20, 21 or 22 mm. The strut has some rubber insulators for the spring, for weather protecting the shock and a rubber shock bumper. Not sure what comes with what you are buying, but the original rubber components usually need to be replaced.

If you can rent/buy the spring compressor, it should be a DIY job.

I was just using the reusing stock springs when I serviced my struts and replaced the shocks. Don't laugh, but I made spring compressors using some 8" - 1/2 bolts, and the clamp casting from those U-electrical clamps for crimping wire to conduit. It takes time to compress and uncompress the spring, but three compressors can be made for about $10. Poos mans method, lol.

But for exotic accessories, a real spring compressor is the way to go.

you can leave a deposit and borrow spring compressors from many chain auto parts stores.
