Hey guys! Have a general question:

With regular care and maintenance, how many miles is the 2.0 good for?

That goes for the auto trans bolted to the 2.0, how long have these things been known to drive without needing a major overhaul?

My ride has 230,000 on it and really dont feel like pulling the trans anytime soon to do a rebuild. But if I have to I'll just get a junker trans, rebuild it and have a spare waiting ready to go if death is close @ hand for the auto.

Ahh what the heck, might as well get another motor too, and put a SC on it lol!

some people run their trannys well over 300k others die off around 150 .... so it's a give an take espicaly on how well you take care of it .... since you say you been doing good and if it dosent do anything odd i say it be good for YEARS to come. mine been slipping a little for almost a year and half now so even when they start to go it take a lil while

My Camry has 232k miles on it and its on the original engine, the transmission was changed at 194k. My engine just started leaking oil though...

Used to be a Toy mechanic several years ago and we had customers with 300k-400k miles on engine and trans. they kept up with normal maintenance and had no problems. LIke Chronoti said though they all vary. Some go early and some the car will fall apart around the engine and trans.

my uncles 87 I4 is pushing almost 600 g's if i remember correctly and he still drives it down to florida from NYC 4 tims a year and then back and that thing is clean

yeah thats what happend to my eyes when i saw the mileage in november it had about 550 or so

I would expect at least 250 out of it with regular maintenance. Our Toyota truck went 247 before the motor crapped. Would've went more if I had taken care of it.

My Camry is at 162 and still runs strong. No crazy stressful driving, no towing and regular mainenance have kept it strong.

600,000 miles. Dude that's got to be the record. I would let Toyota know, that car should be in the Toyota Hall of Fame. Maybe Toyota would trade him with a new one just for the story. It would make a great commercial.
