I'm new here, got a question about the dashboard?

I'm new to TN....hey i was wondering if anyone ever taken apart the dashboard, mine is starting to crack and fade.... i was wanting to custum fiberglass the whole part, but i'm not sure if that's possible....and another thing is the airbag at the passenger side came out.. i was wanting to know if theres a replacement cover for it online (i might be able to fit a LCD monitar there but it will be a while)... by the way i have a 94 automatic v6 xle if you was wanting to know with a kit on( like everyone else with a camm) but it's in the shop cuz i hit a damn deer .....but its cool cuz insurance is paying for most of the damage and i get a Vis invader hood on.........

If you guys want to see a pic after i get my car back i'll try to post it.... but i'm dumb when it comes to computer so someone might have to show me how...

whatever you do, take very detailed notes regarding every single fastener screw and part or you will spends hours trying to figure out how to put it back together. I have a dashboard cover myself, the fuzzy kind it's grey matches the car though I wish it were black so it wouldn't reflect light, tried to dye it even but to no avail..

Cool

I did on my '93 ES300 to change the dash speakers.

Off-hand, of everything i've delt with there is absilutely nothing more of a pain in the ass about these cars than taking the dash out. An experianced mechanic can pluck the engine before an inexperianced person can "carefully" uninstall, then reinstall the dash.

Download the repair manual for gen3s that's on the forum. That'll be much help to you.

dont really worry about it...these guys make it seem like its soooo hard...its really not, especially after youve done it 5 times

remove u-piece around h/u
unscrew 4 screws (not h/u screws), the outer ones
get the two screws on the top portion of the gauges
then, you need to pull and disengage the four clips surround the whole dash

its really simple...it might help to have pictures, so i suggest what dna said, download the manual found at the top of the CAMRY forum page
