Whats causing this? weird!!

My daughter has a 99 4cyl le, I try to do maintance as much as possible, regular stuff, but the girls on the move all the time, she tells me that sometimes when she pushes on the gas " its like the car won't move" When I drove it, it did fine, but once I noticed the gas pedle felt stuck, it popped, and worked fine, I lubed the throttle cables, and looked at the pedle itself and could see nothing wrong. She says it still does it occasionally. I'm thinking throttle body problem? Does anyone have suggestions on what this may be? Thanks in advance Joe

Get some FI or carb cleaner and clean out the throttle body, its probably gunked up and the flap can't open cleanly. My brother's Saturn was doing the exact same thing, this took care of it completlely.

nope, you have to physicaly take off the intake tube and clean it out with some spray, not hard at all and you can get a new tooth brush out of this too

I agree with Galvatron. Get some good intake or carb cleaner remove the air intake tube open the throttle butterfly and clean it out real good may even need to use a small brush or rag to get it reall good. SHould take care of the sticking throttle problem. Will probably be hard to start the first time after you do it, but will be fine afterwards.

as stated above, likey cause is binding throttle cable or linkages in the throttle body. But also ensure the carpet or floor mat is not inetrfering with the gas pedal in any way...
