brake light is on?

so now yesterday i was driving and the brake light turned on so i thought the fluid was low since it turned off later ..... well today i changed the front fender and the diff. fluid. and had the parking break on. well now that little light that comes one when it low on fluid/parking break is set wount turn the hell off....... so is it a stuck switch or that fluid level sensor gone bad or what.

the car is 96 v6 no abs

ok this is what i would like to know before i do my checks tomorrow

1. where is the parking brake switch is for that light to turn on (pedel type)

2. what would the fluid level switch read back for it to turn the light on and what type of switch/sensor is it (on/off or resitance)

3. how would i check for this diffrence in pressure within master cylinder hydr.

any of this would mos def be great!

Got ABS?, check for leaks?, easy to spot when pumping breaks at a standstill in park, lines are alongside driverside, and 4 corners. Brake light flashes on and off up and down hills if your running low on fluid, a slow leak will show in time.., toyota lines rot pretty slow, otherwise its just a sticky switch and the problem will go away on its own, well maybe.
1. brake switch is near the hand brake.
2. it should be a float switch, likely microswitch.
3. dunnoh.
Otherwise I'm no brake expert and I hate working on them and when I have to I don't go cheap on the parts if I don't have to.

I have heard of the parking brake switches coming loose from mounting, and causing the light to stay on.

Let us know what you find.

right now i disconected the fluid level switch and it turned the light off so i guess that is stuck/broken, i'm going to work on it after lunch and see what i can do with it.

I would double-check the fluid level.
