(Noob) Are 19's possible w/o new struts?

Just wondering if 19's were possible on a 94 camry sedan without changing the struts (i'm not quite sure what parts you need and the cost and labor) ... a guy with a civic w/ 17's told me that 18's were pushing it and will wear out your tires fast (that's not good because i drive my car a lot on the HW) , another question is if detachable steering wheel is lame or not.... and if anyone here from tennessee wants to meet up sometimes email me.... any sugestions?? by the way here's my car..(w/o rims of course)

You can mount 19's if you get the right offset and the right tire. The 215/40/19 and 225/35/19 sizes are pretty close to the original diameter. I think you'd have less of a chance of rubbing with the 215/40/19.

Worn out struts will cause the tires to wear out faster than a good set of struts. Struts, springs, and front strut mounts can cost up to 1000+ if installed by a shop. If you are up to tackling the job yourself it can be done for as low as 700 to do struts, springs, front strut mounts and bearings. This is assuming you are going to replace with Tokico, Eibach, and dealer parts. You could do it cheaper with a different brand of springs and some KYB struts, but you do get what you pay for when it somes to struts. The KYB's are pretty much the stock struts.

The strut mounts go for 60 bucks or so a piece at the dealer, also a good idea to replace or at least regrease the front strut mount bearings.

For the rear strut mounts, if they aren't making noise I'd use the stock ones, replace now as prevenive maint if you want.

Most people will say to lower the car first so you don't look like a 4X4 with the bigger wheels.

I didn't think about that looking like 4x4... but UfoZ, do you recomend going big if you are driving the car on a daily basis and going on the interstate lets say 70-85 miles/hour... and did you install everything yourself? by the way i'm jealous of your turbo setup on the camry... (how long did it take u to set that up, and ever consider using nos w/ the turbo or is that too risky)
