Gearboxes for 3S-GTE

Just was looking at some 3sgte's, and noticed that some of the 3sgte's i was looking at dont come with gb's.

if transplanting into a camry, i asume you could use an mr2 box, but then i was thinking maybe you could you use a Toyota Levin AE111 FWD 6-Speed Gearbox with LSD. Im guessing you would have to make a bracket for the bell housing, but it would be awsome to have 6 spd! and whether it would be strong enough... any ideas guys, reading all these 3sgte thread has got me thinking.

A tranny (E153) from a MR2 Turbo will not work in a FWD application. The shift levers are on the wrong side of the tranny, so it needs to be modified.

V6 Camrys/Solaras also came with a E153. Same tranny as in a MR2 Turbo, but the gear ratios are different. Since this tranny is made for FWD applications, no modification is necessary.

I don't see why not. A tranny from a 86 - 89 Celica GTS (3S-GE) will mount up to a 3S block.
