That dam rattle...

Well, this is something I've never experienced before. I have put systems in many cars, but I have never had one rattle the trunk with just back speakers un-amplified. I don't think it is the trunk itself, because when I sit on it, it doesn't stop or get weaker. I think it's the 6 clips that hold down the rear deck, I'm about to go check that. Any other questions and solutions would be greatly appreciated.

the problem i had was with the panels that go on the c pillar. the panel leads all the way along the rear window and rear deck cover. the corners of them always rattled against the glass. see if that could be the problem for you as well.

I think it may be, I checked the clips and they didn't seem to be causing it. I'll check that tomorrow, thanks.

the rear deck can rattle, and so can the rear center brake light....one way is to jam something small but hard (foam or something) between the rear windshield and hte rear cetner brake light and it'll push the light and the rear deck down and keep them from rattling

if u take off the cover (not the red part but the part u see when looking in the rear mirror) u should see a metal reflector thing and i noticed that was rattling...

yea i kno what u mean...i originally just had my pioneer 3-ways in rear deck getting power from the amp in the alpine HU and the bass was incredible....

I had something rattling in the rear, it only happened around 40 - 60 mph. Could not duplicate it otherwise. I first tried the rear deck, speakers but with no fix. I ended tearing out the rear deck and side pillar panels, wrapping everything in duct tape that was loose and taping everything down. It worked that time. Found lots of loose things back there that could touch and make noise if the science was right.
