How do i clean this thing as fast and as easiest as possible? i took it out and its a bit dirty and blowing it, tapping it and shaking it isnt helping.. even a tooth brush wont work! help...

Take a bucket and put mild soap in it. Then fill it with hot/warm water and then dunk your aif filter in it. Move it around to losen the dirt and then let it sit out to air dry. You should be good over night. You can put a hair dryer to it if you want to hurry the process. If it needs to be oiled/charged, then you should buy a kit that does that too.

Use a degresser spray or something as well. That'll help, then just hose it. But I think camrypunk's method would help more. Cuz it'll make sure don't miss any spots. Better yet spray the degresser liquid into a bucket of water and let it soak! Guranteed to be clean!

if the filter is cotton gauze, it MUST BE re oiled after cleaning... dont take a hair dryer to it, damages the cotton, leave it to air out.

yeah... its got oil on the filter... its just a cheap washable/reusable filter... would that k&n recharge kit be a good thing?

the k&n kit is one of the few kits.. i have no idea what poil filters use.. though... wher ei live teh K&N kit is the only thing around for easy re oiling.

My friend has a neat system set up... he has 2 reusable filters... so the down time is minimal to the car.

I have K&N air filter(s) and it says air dry no heat or you can damage the filter. Wash under a stream of water (inside->outside) and don't use a brush or anything abrasive because you may damage the filter. I should have the instruction sheet for re-oiling somewhere so if you need it send me an e-mail.
