tryin to help my dad

ok my dad has a 1997 Toyota Camry LE, and its actually ran very very well the past 8 years; has about 95,000 miles on it. only thign i dont like is the squishiness of the suspension (ive been a honda guy with my civic and my mom's accord v6 and prefer a lilbit more... well you get the idea haha).

anyways this problem has been happening for a while, but its nothing major at all. in "intermittent" mode on the windshield wipers, its not intermittent, and when you throw it back into the off position, itll just... stop, right in the middle of the windshield without returning back down to its resting position before stopping. is this a quick fix, like maybe a fuse or blown relay or anything? id like to help out my dad since its bugged him for like 4 years haha.

also, im assuming that the camry's have intake resonator chambers/intake silencers. does it get a lot louder when they are taken out and to they yield any loss in low-end torque/gain in highend power? (on my civic, it gets loud only with more than 50% throttle).

thanks!

the wiperv stop switch is in the wiper motor, thats why the delay doesnt work and they stop anywhere, its bad, and the struts sound like its about time to get new ones

Why do you want to take off the silencers?

Wipers,

Like Fredk says.

You can take the wiper motor mechanism off and see the state of the contacts. Some can be cleaned and reassembled to work properly, if not, it has to be replaced.

A similar problem on an 86 Volvo was fixed by cleaning contacts Good Luck!
