Question American Camry in Saudi Arabia

Hello there, this is my first post, and i hop i find answers to my questions here ...

i exported a car from USA one week ago the care is camry 95 LE in very good condition..

i have the following 2 questions:

- the radio/tape and CD are all original Toyota, I have a problem with the radio tune, it tunes only frequencies x.1, x.3, ….. x.9, I do not know why, and the radio stations frequencies here in Saudi Arabia are 100, 102 and 96 , so to get these station I get them only on 100.1 102.1 96.1 and of course there are a disturbances in the voice because it is not the exact frequencies of these radio stations, my question is, why It tunes like that? And how I can fix it to get the exact frequencies?

- The ABS light is always on even after I increased the brake oil to the maximum! How can I know if the ABS is functioning well , any ideas?

Thanks

Hi and Welcome to TN,

The reason your radio won't work is because the Toyota radio is designed to be used in the US, and they use different frequencies over there. I'm in Ireland and I bought a Clarion CD/Tuner from the US and it came set up for US frequencies, but as it is an aftermarket radio it has a setting to change the frequency for use outside the US. We use the same frequencies in Ireland as you do. So either buy a new radio in Saudi or if you have an owner's manual it might tell you if you can change the frequency setting of the Toyota radio.

To test it, go about 20 MPH and slam the brakes. If you feel the pedal pulsate, it works. But if your ABS light is on, I am nearly sure it won't. You might need 1 or more ABS sensors.

You need a new deck (radio/cd/tape) player for your car (i had the same problem when i took a stero from US to dubai...)

As far as ABS goes, maybe all you need are ABS sensors. Check those out?
How much did the car cost, and how much did it cost in Exporting (well to you importing it in)...i ask cus i may be do the such years down....

Zfreeman, vbmenu_register("postmenu_606106", true); My sterio is Toyota A16406, i think it is the origonal one coming with the car !!, i really hope that it has a module or somehting that can be modified to tune on the even frequances!!

ASG14, do you have any idea how much a new ABS sensor might cost?

jhbhatia vbmenu_register("postmenu_606214", true); , the whole thing (the car and the importing fees) cost me 22,000 Saudi Riyal. vbmenu_register("postmenu_606188", true);

Cool

^ FYI 22,000 SAR is roughly $5940 USD

amozo go pull the batter cables off the car for 5 min and put them on. See if the light stays on.

Do a diagnostics test with a paper clip. You can check it out with a Haynes manual or equivalent repair manual over there. It's located in your engine area near your intake manifold. I believe it says Diagnostics.

It should blink and tell you exactly which sensor to replace. I had that problem before.
