Hi for all the lads in Australia and others that has relevance to dis topic.
I Have a GEN5 '04 Toyota Camry Sportivo (Black)
I tried out some 17x5 wheels comparing it to my stock 16x6 rims and theres no difference wat so eva. 17" looks real small on my car.
Now im finkin of 18"s to all you guys out there wat kinda tyres u usin and wat size?
and also hows the ride on 18"s?
I want quite tyres so ne recommendations?
18" wheels rarely comes in 18x7 right? im havin problems insurin my car cause d maximum i can put on my car is 17x7 rims. My stock rims are 16x6 = Maximum width is 1 inch.
So to all you guys. Gimme sum feedback about 18" rims pros and cons of it.
Im lookin after sum 45 profiles. I dun wanna resort to 40 profiles.
Hey man im from syd too we have to go cruising.. anyway 40 profile would look better, but 45 will fill the guards better if your car isnt lowered. My wheels are 17x7.5 and 50 profile lol and i have rubbing issues, you shouldnt have a problem.
WARNING FOLLOWING PICS MAY OFFEND SOME VIEWERS, IF I SEE THESE WHEELS ON YOUR CAR, I WILL HAVE TO SHOOT YOU.
i currently have the same sportivo rims as you on my gen 4.5 camry, and i'm riding on 215/60/16 continentals. 17s would look alright on your car to me, but 18s would be better. you just gotta do your research and find out which brand make 18x7s. however, you also got to think about how much tyres are gonna cost once you get 18s. also ask about the effects of different tyre profiles as well. coz if you do go with 18s, you'll need tyres with good weight bearing capabilities coz, a camry isn't exactly a light car.
here is a couple of pix of my car with factory sportivo rims

Yo smt_007,
those rims r so wicked..they r radical. Very different
How much were those rims and tyres? those wheels look like 19's not 17's LoL
U have rubbin issues? is it lowered?
ive got sportivo model so i fink it will b ok wif 18's im gonan fit 18's 1st b4 lowering d car with sportivo springs from toyota
Hey Aussie Ed ,
Those stock sportivo rims actually looks good on the 4.5. Didnt fink they would suit but u get use 2 it. nice stuff ne plans 2 lower it?
yeah, i've got plans to lower my car about 1.5", nothing too low coz i'm planning on getting a body kit for it. also tossing up the idea of getting stiffer shocks with the lowered springs, but still thinking about it.
smt actually owns a gen 2, that pic isn't his car, its just an example of what your car could look like with 18s on.
about your rim choice, you might also want to consider the weight of the rims as well, coz with bigger rims it will require more power to make them move. unless you are not planning on trying to make your car faster or take it onto track, this wouldn't be a factor of consideration for you.

you cant go 18x7 anyway because the tyre's load rating would be illegal if you plan on keeping the same overall wheel diametre (changing that is also illegal!)
Does any1 in Sydney know ne cheap wheel and tyre place.
Ive been 2 ozzy tyres, big o, and they aint cheap at all..
Havent been 2 tempe yet might have 2 go there and check em out.
Cant make up my mind which kinda wheels looks nice.
No chromies, lookin 4 shadow chrome or polished wheels.
would look better on my black paint
tempe are expensive as far as imported japanese wheels go, they wanted to charge me like $300 more than what i paid for my gram lights. tried stamford tyres yet?
