My 95 doesn't seem to leak on the front or rear, and the mileage is very high.
If I did it, I'd likely lift the tranny up about a foot. You have to be careful that the torque converter stays in place, otherwise you'd have to flip the tranny partially vertical to get the torque converter rengaged.
I did my 85 and I could't get the torque converter to rengage when the transmission was horizontal. I had to turn it so that the torque convertor was up, then it dropped into place without any effort.
