Angry Seat tracks

I am trying to replace the seats in my '89 with seats from a gen3 (i forgot what year). The problem is that the mounting points on the new seats are wider in the back and don't fit between the b-pillar and the center console. I would like to remove the bottom half of the seat tracks(the part with the mounts on them) and switch them from the old seat to the new one. If anyone has done this before, please help! I would like to get this done today if at all possible!

Many thanks!

Bonus: Pics of the seats

you should be able to do that, as long as when you bolt them onto the gen3 seats, they're bolted onto the supports built into the seat.....otherwise you may have to do some welding
