A way to improve stock Camry ride

G'day all,

I have a Gen2 camry that is almost completely stock, and i must say that the ride has always been pathetic on it. Today though, i bought four new tyres: Pirelli P6000's, which are classed as a low end performance tyre i suppose but they changed the handling of the car quite a bit. They gave the car a more stiffer ride and there is less body roll when turning corners.

Before i changed the tyres i had yum cha tyres and they compounded the problem with the cars worn suspension i suppose. Anyway just thought i might mention it so that anyone who is looking to get new tyres with a stock setup might be able to get a bit more out of their car.

Cheers,

Craig.

so do you want to further improve your car's ride quality or just telling us that you got some new tyres??

if you are after further improvement on your car's ride, you can't go wrong with new shocks, springs, front and rear sway bars and strut tower bars. of course better tyres and bigger rims (not rediculously big) would also help

Yea was basically just saying i got new tyres and it helped, it was more a post for people who might not know it would help that much (like me). Sorry if it confused anyone.

I'd love to get a pedders sports rider suspension/shockers kit or something put on my car because that would make a massive difference, but its too much money for me to pay. Seeing as everyone gets tyres at some stage just thought i would mention it.

Cheers,

Craig.

ok.

well on that note about tyres, from my experience with them, i found that my old bfgoodrich sport ta tyres were very good in handling in the wet, dry and during corning. they weren't bad for 205/65/15s.

the michelens (sp) vivacy tyres (205/60/16) that came with my new/sorta used sportivo 16" rims were good also, though the ones on the back were pretty much bald when i got them, the front was gripping very well and braking very well.

currently, i have continental ecocontact cp tyres on. they, i have to say compared to the tyres i've had, would be one of the absolute best. they are 215/60/16 with a 99H rating. they aren't exactly sporty tyres, but they handle really good in the wet and dry and during corning, they are very quiet with a very comfortable ride and they really improve your braking, acording to the tyre guys that i bought them off, they reduce braking distance by 4meters and improves fuel economy. they are the same tyres that are fitted on to beamers off the showroom floor.
