does the 96 auto i4 camry LE have one?.. i can't seem to get her to go past 170km/h and she isn't maxxed out on rpms. Gives me the impression she does. If she does then where is it located and how can i remove it?

Cruisin down the backroads. Power shifting for fun. Put her in 1st, 2nd, then shift her to Drive, punch the accelerator. Sputters.. Lights pop up on the dash. "oh shit.. what is it?" look down, I put it in Reverse. (True Story) lol

don't know, find a long pretty straight road and giv'er in the middle of the night

when you hit the limitor (if you have one) the rpm's i'll just die down to iddle and come back up about 5 km/h below the govern'ed speed

its pretty scary, i thought i blew something the first time i hit the govenor in my altima at 190

remember you do have a 4 banger and a camry isn't exactly a little car, probably expect (stock) maximum 190-200, if you can find enough road maybe 210

good luck

No...They are not govorned. I have a 1996 Toyota Camry LE (4 banger) and it gets up in the 115 mph range. If it was govorned I think I would cut off lower than that.

What exactly is a governor? Does it just simply limit you to a certain speed? How can you tell if you have one without going that fast? I got a 92 Camry XLE V6... any governor in that one? I ve never got over 115mph... the rpm's were still up... i dunno how high... i forget.... but i remember that i really couldnt get any higher.
